Inspired by Petrified Forest National Park, September 2013
I made a brief visit to Petrified Forest National park just before sunset and was struck by the beauty and stillness of the petrified trees.

Lyrics
“Petrified”
Written by Kendall Bruns
[Verse]
You petrified my heart
Or was it was broken from the start
You buried it in dirt
It turned so hard it cannot hurt
Covered by silt and sand
I’m no longer a man
You petrified my heart
It’s gone
[Pre-Chorus]
Shimmer in the moonlight
No one visits in the cool night
Lonely heart out in the grassland
Turned to precious stone
[Chorus]
Oh-Oh-Oh-Ohh
Oh-Oh-Oh-Ohhh-Ohh-Oh
Oh-Oh-Oh-Ohh
Oh-Oh-Oh-Ohhh-Ohh-Oh
Oh-Oh-Oh-Ohh
Oh-Oh-Oh-Ohhh-Ohh-Oh
Oh-Oh-Oh-Ohh
It’s gone
[Bridge]
Heart like a stone
Buried alone
Petrified for future fun
But visited by no one
It glistens in the sun
But the sun goes down
And the night is cold
[Verse]
You petrified my heart
Or was it was broken from the start
You buried it in dirt
It turned so hard it cannot hurt
Covered by silt and sand
I’m no longer a man
You petrified my heart
It’s gone
[Pre-Chorus]
Shimmer in the moonlight
No one visits in the cool night
Lonely heart out in the grassland
Turned to precious stone
[Chorus]
Oh-Oh-Oh-Ohh
Oh-Oh-Oh-Ohhh-Ohh-Oh
Oh-Oh-Oh-Ohh
Oh-Oh-Oh-Ohhh-Ohh-Oh
Oh-Oh-Oh-Ohh
Oh-Oh-Oh-Ohhh-Ohh-Oh
Oh-Oh-Oh-Ohh
It’s gone
