“Bluer Than Blue”

Inspired by Crater Lake National Park, July 2016

The most striking thing about Crater Lake is just how intense the blue water appears. It’s mesmerizing and it doesn’t get old. I started writing this song while hiking to the summit of Wizard Island, a volcano within a volcano.

I made this reference video right after I had completed the new bridge. I’ve changed the key since then but this shows the basic song structure.

Lyrics

“Bluer Than Blue”
Written by Kendall Bruns

[Chorus]

You are bluer than blue
You are bluer than blue
You are bluer than blue

No matter how long I stop and stare
I can’t take my eyes from you

[Verse 1]

You’re so blue and you’re so damn pretty
Do you know what you do
To everyone you meet that starts acting so silly
Because they’re so in love with you

I would travel half the world
To see you just one time
You’re always on my mind

[Chorus]

You are bluer than blue
You are bluer than blue
You are bluer than blue
No matter how long I stop and stare
I can’t take my eyes from youß

[Verse 2]

You’re so blue and you’re so damn pretty
Do you know what you do
To everyone you meet that starts acting so silly
Because they’re so in love with you

You might not even notice me
Or forget me if you do
But I remember you
Whoa oh ah oh
I remember you

[Bridge]

I know that you are much more than the blue
That people see when they adore you
I want to be the kind of company
That leaves you better when I go
And I don’t wanna leave until I know that

[Chorus]

You are more that just blue
You are bluer than blue
You are bluer than blue

No matter how long I stop and stare
I can’t take my eyes from you
